Coronavirus India Updates: Chhattisgarh Govt Allows Home Delivery Of Liquor In Green Zones; Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka Hike Liquor Price


Coronavirus In India LIVE Updates : Petrol prices have been hiked by Rs 1.67 per litre, diesel by Rs 7.10 a litre in Delhi after state govt raises VAT on auto fuel.

India witnessed highest single-day spike in the number of cases and fatalities on Tuesday morning, with 3,900 new cases and 195 fatalities in the past 24 hours. The total number of Covid-19 cases in the country climbed to 46433 as per Union Health Ministry said. Of the total cases, 32,138 are active, 12726 people have recovered, and 1568 people have succumbed to the disease.

Chhattisgarh government has started home delivery of liquor in green zones in the state. A customer can place an online order for up to 5000ml liquor at a time, with delivery charges of Rs 120.

Liquor Prices To Be Hiked In Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh Government hikes liquor prices by 50%, taking the total overall hike in price of liquor to 75%. The revised rates will come into effect from today afternoon. Price hike imposed to discourage alcohol consumption: Chief Minister's Office.

In Karnataka, as well all liquor brands will cost more from next week when new stocks arrive for sales, as the 6 per cent increase in additional excise duty (AED) will be added to their maximum retail price.
