Tech majors fall in line after CCI cracks whip

India's technology companies are addressing anti-trust concerns following directives issued by the Competition Commission of India (CCI). Companies including Google and Amazon are implementing changes to ensure no search bias or preferential treatment is given to specific entities on their platforms. The CCI has issued directives against several firms and probed others, though final verdicts are still pending. Legal experts said the crackdown had sent a deterrent message to companies, while the government has proposed steeper penalties for violations. There are also discussions about introducing special provisions to regulate digital firms.
